Metagenics' Functional Medicine Research Center thoroughly studied a group of obese volunteers to see how Healthy Transformation would work for them over a 12-week period. The results were very encouraging, as 92% of those who finished the program lost over 7.5% of their total body weight. As you can see in the graph below, the group as a whole blew past their 7.5% weight loss target and made it all the way to 11.2%!
As impressive as the group's combined results are, the results are even more impressive when you analyze them closer and on a more individual basis. 62 of the 100 participants lost more than 10% of their total body weight and 13 of the participants lost more than 15%. In addition to the big weight loss, there were also significant improvements in body fat percentage, cholesterol, triglycerides, and insulin levels.
The study also provides detailed analysis on a couple of individual participants' experiences in the study. While these cases are not representative of the experiences of all individuals, it presents a powerful case for the potential of Healthy Transformation. The first individual case is a 47-year old male whose Body Mass Index (BMI) of 36.3 put him in the "obese class II" category. By the end of the study, he lost a whopping 38.4 pounds that, as the chart below shows, led to huge reductions in BMI and waist circumference.
The other detailed individual case is that of a 38-year old woman who weighed 181 pounds coming into the study. Based on her height, she was classified as "obese class I." But after participating in the Healthy Transformation program for 12 weeks, she had lost 19.8% of her total weight and was no longer considered any level of obese. Along with her weight loss, she noted significant improvement in various quality of life measurements such as physical functioning, bodily pain, and vitality. Also, take a look at the graphs below that highlight her impressive simultaneous reduction in fat mass and increase in lean body mass.
